In just a few weeks, we will be starting a brand new decade, and 2020 promises to be a year of fresh starts and breaking old habits. What are your resolutions? What is it that you want to do as you enter into this new phase? There are so many different options out there, but we have found one common thing that will solve all of them: signing up for a dance class in Toronto.
Here are some of the most common resolutions and how they can be fulfilled just by taking a class:
Lose Weight in 2020
If you want to lose weight (and keep it off) in the new year, one of the best ways to do it is through an exercise class of some sort. Not only are you working out your body in ways that it probably hasn’t worked out before, but you are going to fall in love with this type of movement. Whether you take a hip hop class, a modern class, or just a square dancing class, there is something about dance that really makes people fall in love.
Once you attend a few sessions, you will see just how addicting dance is and you will continue to lose weight, tone your body, and make healthy decisions to keep you moving freely.
Learn A New Skill In 2020
In a world where many of us spend hours and hours every day doing the same basic activities over and over again, learning a new skill always seems to be at the top of everyone’s list for a resolution.
Learning a new skill doesn’t have to be boring. Instead, it can be fun and get you up and moving. Learning how to dance is a great new skill that you will be able to use in many areas of your life. Maybe you want to learn how to waltz like they do in your favorite movie or you want to learn how to dance like Beyonce. There are dance classes that will help you learn a new skill that you can put to use in many situations – whether it is just to keep your joints healthy or to improve your relationships.
Try Something That Scares You In 2020
Many people have not so great memories attached to dance. Sometimes it is from that middle school dance where you stepped on your crush’s toes or maybe it was in college when you decided to do a split while wearing a really short skirt.
Whatever the reason, many people are afraid to dance. However, there are so many people that find pure joy in dance, so those who are too afraid to try are really missing out. If dancing scares you, taking a dance class can be a great way to approach it in a controlled, respectful environment.
Do Something For Self Care in 2020
We don’t take good care of ourselves anymore, that’s just a fact. Too often, we take care of everyone else around us and forget about ourselves. By signing up for dance, you are able to focus on yourself for just about an hour. You will be taking care of your health, releasing endorphins, and learning a new skill all in one. When you take some time for yourself, you will be able to be there for the people that matter to you at new levels.
Spend More Time With Your Friends In 2020
Having trouble fitting in time for your friends? It happens to all of us, even though those friendships are still so important. One thing you can do is take a class together! Use this in place of your usual gym session and see how much fun you have. Whether it allows you to remember those college days or it helps you to reconnect with the friendships you had before you had a family, spending a few hours with your friends, learning how to dance, can forge connections.
Who knows – it may even lead to trips or events in the future where you can create even more memories. After all, friendships are important.
No matter, taking this step and actually signing up will fulfill so many of your potential resolutions – and it is fun! Resolutions don’t have to be about punishing yourself. Instead, they can be about rewarding the amazing person that you are while still trying to improve.
